Meet the Crew
Each of our Galveston Bay Fishing Guides has fished out of Eagle Point Fishing Camp for years - even decades. It's important to each of them to have a home base where they can be ready for the customer when the customer arrives. Eagle Point Fishing Camp provides the Galveston Bay Fishing Guides live bait, ice, and tackle, so when the customer arrives, they get on the boat and go fishing! Along with giving the customer a great experience, the conveniences of private parking, clean restrooms, and stellar customer service at the marina is a plus for those who book fishing charters with the Galveston Bay Fishing Guides.
Captain David
Captain David is no stranger to Galveston Bay. He started fishing the salt waters with his dad in the 1960s when he was just five years-old. In 1988, he became a Galveston Bay fishing guide part time while working at the YMCA as a Childcare Director. By 1990, he combined his experience fishing with his expertise from working with children and became known as one of the best fishing guides for families on Galveston Bay.
Captain David fishes out of Eagle Point Fishing Camp, which is centrally located on Galveston Bay. He started his Galveston Bay fishing charter service there in the 1980s. At that time, he became dubbed as the "Innovative Leader of Utilizing Live Croakers in the Pursuit of Speckled Trout". Since then, using croaker as bait has become one of the most popular ways to catch trout on Galveston Bay. After more than 30 years as a Galveston Bay Fishing Guide, Captain David still enjoys every memory created while watching his customers catch fish. |
Captain Juan
When Captain Juan retired from his career, he new exactly where he wanted to move: the coast of Galveston Bay so he could fish on a regular basis. Since settling along the bay, he's had quite the success catching trout, reds, drum, flounder, sheepshead and soon word spread about how great Juan was as an angler. Captain David and Eric of Eagle Point Fishing Camp encouraged Juan to get his captain's license a few years ago, and since then he's been helping friends, families, and corporate groups catch fish on Galveston Bay. Juan is known for fishing and catching year-round. He's got a lot of experience fishing the middle of Galveston Bay and the shore lines as the fish move throughout the year.
