Capt. RafaelCaptain Rafael is no stranger to Galveston Bay and Eagle Point Fishing Camp. Having grown up fishing the waters of Galveston Bay, he’s spent a lifetime learning its tides, wells, reefs, and hidden structure — and he hasn’t missed a season on the water. Though he moved to Dallas several years ago, Rafael returns every spring through fall with his family, continuing the tradition and passion that shaped him as an angler.
Highly regarded for his skill and technique, Rafael specializes in targeting wells and mid-bay structures, expertly working live bait to put clients on fish. Whether it’s drifting with a popping cork or fishing the bottom with precision, he adapts his approach to match the conditions and the bite. His local knowledge, consistency, and calm confidence on the water make every trip both productive and memorable. Rafael fishes out of a 25' SeaHunt with t-tops for shade and misters for the heat. |
Capt. MarkCaptain Mark guides out of Eagle Point Fishing Camp and brings a lifetime of fishing experience to every trip. A Chemical Engineering graduate from Texas A&M University, but his true passion has always been on the water.
He began fishing freshwater lakes as a young child and was introduced to saltwater fishing in high school, where he had the opportunity to learn from some of the South Florida masters of the craft. Under their mentorship, Mark developed a strong foundation in technique, boat positioning, bait presentation, and reading water conditions — skills that continue to define his approach today. Over the past 10 years, Mark has dedicated himself to mastering the Galveston Bay area, studying its patterns, structure, and seasonal movements to consistently put clients on fish. Captain Mark fishes from a 22-foot Triton bay boat, offering a smooth, stable platform that comfortably accommodates up to four anglers. Whether you’re new to the sport or an experienced fisherman, Mark’s steady approach and deep local knowledge make for a productive and enjoyable day on the bay. |
Capt. DavidCaptain David is no stranger to Galveston Bay. He started fishing the salt waters with his dad in the 1960s when he was just five years-old. In 1988, he became a Galveston Bay fishing guide part time while working at the YMCA as a Childcare Director. By 1990, he combined his experience fishing with his expertise from working with children and became known as one of the best fishing guides for families on Galveston Bay.
Captain David fishes out of Eagle Point Fishing Camp, which is centrally located on Galveston Bay. He started his Galveston Bay fishing charter service there in the 1980s. At that time, he became dubbed as the "Innovative Leader of Utilizing Live Croakers in the Pursuit of Speckled Trout". Since then, using croaker as bait has become one of the most popular ways to catch trout on Galveston Bay. After more than 30 years as a Galveston Bay Fishing Guide, Captain David still enjoys every memory created while watching his customers catch fish. |
Capt. JuanWhen Captain Juan retired from his career, he new exactly where he wanted to move: the coast of Galveston Bay so he could fish on a regular basis.
Since settling along the bay, he's had quite the success catching trout, reds, drum, flounder, sheepshead and soon word spread about how great Juan was as an angler. Captain David and Eric of Eagle Point Fishing Camp encouraged Juan to get his captain's license a few years ago, and since then he's been helping friends, families, and corporate groups catch fish on Galveston Bay. Juan is known for fishing and catching year-round. He's got a lot of experience fishing the middle of Galveston Bay and the shore lines as the fish move throughout the year. |
