- Life jackets, fire extinguishers, and all other USCG safety mandates will be supplied.
- Safety briefings will be held prior to departure.
What will I need to bring?
- Drinks: We recommend you bring plenty of water along with any additional beverage you care to drink. Please note, we will not tolerate rude behavior or drunkenness and reserve the right to immediately terminate the charter if such behavior is shown.
- Snacks: Food is also recommended, but please make sure its something you can eat while riding in a boat. We do not have the ability to warm anything while on charter.
- Sunscreen: Please do not bring spray sunscreen as it gets all over the boat and makes for a slippery and dangerous fishing platform.
- Life Jacket: If under the age of 13, bring a life jacket. Its a Texas state law, anyone under the age of 13 must wear a life jacket at all times. Children 13 and younger can NOT wear an inflatable jacket and it must be USCG approved.
- Hat & sunglasses: The glare off the water can be harmful, please bring the proper head gear and eye protection needed.
- Fishing License: Eagle Point Fishing Camp does not sell fishing licenses. Please make sure to read the state guidelines prior to purchase. Licenses can be purchased online at the following website. https://tpwd.texas.gov/business/licenses/online_sales/
What if my charter has to cancel due to weather?
- If we need to reschedule your charter, due to upcoming weather changes, we will notify you with as much lead time as reasonably possible.
- The deposit will be held and used until your trip.
What do I need to wear?
- Wear something comfortable. Shorts and a t-shirt are recommended but you are more than welcome to wear anything you want.
- We do not recommend wearing jeans. Wear something that dries quickly when wet.
- Please wear the proper foot attire. No boots of any kind will be allowed, as they will scuff the boat and leave black marks.
Do you need to have prior fishing experience to enjoy a guided trip?
- No. We can work with customers of all experience levels, including kids. Come with a willingness to learn and listen and you will have a great time.
Will we be fishing in the ocean/offshore?
- No. We will be in one of the Galveston Bay complexes and the furthest we may go is to the Galveston Jetties.
What happens if I tend to get sea-sick when on a boat?
- Even on the calmest days, the boat may rock from time to time. If you tend to get sea-sick please take precautions ahead of time.
- We will do our best to accommodate your needs but if we need to return to the dock, the cost of the entire trip will be charged.
Do I need to tip the guide after the trip?
- Tips are never expected but always appreciated, typically 20-25%.
- Our guides work very hard to make this a great experience for you. Sometimes the fish cooperate and other times the fishing is tough. Regardless, our guides will do their best to make this a trip to remember.
